It was a wonderful quick read that left me wanting the next book! I have to admit that it had been a long time since I exercised my willing suspension of disbelief on any book that wasn't a reread I trusted. My usal go to books written by Orson Scott Card, Charles D'lint, or Isaac Asimov. Let's face it, I can be a hard sell sometimes. When I began the book I first thought uh oh this is going to be kiddy and underdeveloped (not that I'm any great literary critic), but as I continued to read I found myself absorbed into some really wonderful twists and turns in which the writer was able to transport me into the characters position and leave me there concerned and surprised. Concerned for the characters and surprised at my realization of how the book transported me into a new space which I could be surprised. All in all I thoroughly enjoyed it, am looking forward to the next and thank the author Dima Zales for the entertaining story. ThanksThe Last Humans (3 Book Series)

I was disappointed with Oasis. I found the premise of the story a little tired (Star Trek had a similar theme for one episodes, as well as several other books and stories I have read and watched ... Logan's Run, Brave New World, 1984...), and the characters a bit out of sync with their given ages. Theo -- the main character -- and his "youth" group supposedly are in their twenties, but act like young teenagers, calling each other names and insulting each other. I know that one of the ideas was that aging was suppressed, but mentally, as well? I wasn't sure, but they all acted like it.I guessed the conclusion and the bad guys way too early on in the storyline, which took away from my enjoyment of the book.I agree with other reviewers that this should best be classified as a Young Adult novel. The story was interesting enough that I completed it, but I am not sure if I will purchase the followups.

The book was very boring to me. I can normally read a book and it sticks with me for a long time. After reading this I can remember the plot but not the characters names. To me this book was meh. It is something to read when your bored that you'd check out at the library not buy. I didn't get attached to any of the people. There was a plot but it was mainly boring no character development no real emotion from the characters. Not the worst book that I read but not a great one either.

I loved the thought reader trilogy. This book is nothing like that. It's much harder to get into. It took me ages to get into it and just read it.It's way different to most other sci fi. But it's different in a way that makes your head hurt trying to figure out where we're all going. You can see from the review that I decided I quite like it. Simple characters who grow into something more complex. A simple plot, the direction of which seems pretty obvious, that isn't.The ending is crafted to make you ask a bunch of questions. And, yes, I have bought the sequel to see if they're asked or answered.Need to go find out.If you choose this, have a nice read.

The story is a really original basis. I really enjoy following the story that Dima tells. The secondary characters are 2 dimensional, but that's not an issue here as the story follows 2 main characters. I like the premise that life on Earth as we know it has ended and that there's a colony of what's left. Where it goes from there is intriguing and keeps the reader engaged. Can't wait to read the next one.

I won't go into the basics of the story as others have done so in other reviews. I found this to be very engaging with enough plot twists to keep me reading right on through. There ARE enough clues scattered throughout the book to help you figure out the denouement and they are obvious -- once the story reaches the end. I am not sure if this is YA or for older readers, so I assume it's for both. Very well-written, with interesting characters and a very good sense of movement. I recommend this for both younger readers and everyone who really likes science fiction. I am now going straight to the second book!

It took me a few chapters to get into the story but after that I was hooked. I will definitely be reading on to find out where this story and it’s characters go. If anything, I felt the book was actually too short, and could’ve used a third act. Looking forward to seeing what kind of tale is delivered in the sequel.

It was an interesting book , quite different . The story was a bit confusing at first but I soon became attached to the main character and wanted to know what would happened to him . I will definitely buy book 2 of the series .
