Rita P. Mitchell overcame numerous obstacles to accomplish personal goals throughout her career in the financial services industry spanning almost four decades. She became president of her own insurance and securities brokerage firm, has spoken on the TEDx stage, contributed to Black Enterprise magazine, and became the first-ever recipient of First Horizon's 2018 Inclusion & Diversity Leader s Award. Before retiring in early 2018, Rita served as Executive Vice President and Manager of Private Client Services for Middle Tennessee, First Tennessee Bank. Residing in Nashville, TN, Rita enjoys writing, cooking, and traveling with the love of her life, Fulton, and her daughter, Brittany.

Rita is truly an inspiring individual. From first hand experience, I know what a compelling and authentic person she is and it shines through in this book. Rita’s life lessons assist any individual in taking a step back, consider where they are and inspire them to be their best selves in life and in their career. I am grateful for knowing her and her sharing personal highlights to support others in their life’s journey.

I generally find "career books" to be a little boring, but that simply isn't the case with this book. Rita is extremely easy to connect with and offers insightful, practical wisdom that every woman in business needs to hear. Not to mention I was able to read almost the entire book in one plane ride! As a recent college graduate, I highly recommend it to any woman just starting their career and looking for an easy-to-read guide to help navigate the business world.

You will read something you have heard before with a twist and recognize areas where you can improve your life and career.
