The actual translations of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, aka Egyptian Book of Coming Forth By Day, are the usual translations that have been read many times before. Nothing new in this so-called "translation," although the tables of Egyptian hieroglyphs used in the Book of the Dead are useful for reference. But Seleem's main purpose is to convince the reader that the founders of Egypt came from Atlantis, to which he gives an alleged Egyptian name which is never mentioned in the Book of the Dead or anywhere else that Egyptologists know of. He also expounds an occult religious view of an organization he claims dates back to the beginning of history and beyond, and of which he claims to be a member. He encourages the reader to "see" his other books on religion for a fuller explanation. As you might expect, Egyptologists have universally panned this alleged "true" translation, ranging from his confusion between the Pyramid Texts and the Book of the Dead, to his remarkable and undocumented claim that Atlantis was destroyed in 50,509 BC and that the pyramids were built 45,000 years ago and his contention that modern science is "evil" and that the number -place "0" is an evil concept. Naturally, Seleem claims that other Egyptolists are evil as well.So if you have been led to believe that this is a "new and true translation" of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, join many others who have been duped as well. This is a book about New Age occultism wrapped around an actual translation that is neither new nor any truer than any other. For that, look at the translation by R.O. Faulkner or any other Egyptologist who isn't pushing the legend of Atlantis and his other books on occult religions.

Brilliant look into ancient Egypt from the symbolist point of view

its a great book, i learned a lot.

This book is full of knowledge and wisdom for those who seek truth. This is truly a great translation of the book of life and shows the holistic views of the ancients. Not only does it open your eyes about the nature of reality , but also reveals the truth about religion and where modern day organized religions get their constructs from. This book is recommended for anyone in search of living in accord with the most high laws which governs us.

Beautiful! Exactly what we wanted! Thank you!

Some info but author does not explain the why of his theories.Wrote to him to ask directly and he either couldn't or wouldn't answer. He want you to buy more books, Which are very expensive and not on amazon. I am moving on..

Dr Seleem's academic credentials are not listed anywhere in this publication. This seems an obvious intended omission once you start reading in this text his ideas concerning Egyptian Cosmology, history, science and other religious traditions of the world.Exactly what is Mr. Saleem a "Doctor of"?He does not state he has a doctorate in Egyptology or Anthropology, Archeology, Linguistics, Comparative Religion or Mythology. From his absurd conculsions and naive speculations on themetaphysical and monotheistic nature of the Egyptian religon and his rantings on the evil foundations of the Western scientific method, one might conclude he never attendedan accredited University or took a single class on comparative religion or mythology.Pass this book up and be happy you did.If someone sends it to you - send it back for a refund. If you are really interested in this subject stick with Falkner and Zahi Hawass.

Its so fascinating to find out that Egypt had incorporated Breathing Techniques and Yoga into their Religion. I always thought that Asia was the only area that really perfected this but Egypt also perfected this. I have many other books on Egypt and Egyptology but this is the one I read over and over again. This translation of the Scriptures is the most beautiful I've ever read. I feel like I'm reading a Bible and building a better relationship with God when I read it.The Egyptian Book of Life goes in depth in describing the Individual Gods and it displays the correlations and correspondences with the Elements, Forces, and Principles of Nature, Life, and the Universe.I picked up this book, started reading it, and finished it in 2 days. I've re-read it twice.I bought 5 extra books and gave them out to my Family and Friends as gifts.

About the Author

Marge Lial (late) was always interested in math; it was her favorite subject in the first grade! Her desire to educate both her students and herself inspired the writing of numerous best-selling textbooks. Marge, who received Bachelor's and Master's degrees from California State University at Sacramento, was most recently affiliated with American River College. An avid reader and traveler, Marge’s travel experiences often find their way into her books as applications, exercise sets, and feature sets. She was particularly interested in archeology. Trips to various digs and ruin sites produced some fascinating problems for her textbooks, involving such topics as the building of Mayan pyramids and the acoustics of ancient ball courts in the Yucatan.   When John Hornsby enrolled as an undergraduate at Louisiana State University, he was uncertain whether he wanted to study mathematics education or journalism. His ultimate decision was to become a teacher, and now after more than twenty-five years of teaching at the high school and university levels and fifteen years of writing mathematics textbooks, both of his goals have been realized. His love for both teaching andmathematics is evident in his passion for working with students and fellow teachers as well. His specific professional interests are recreational mathematics, mathematics history, and incorporating graphing calculators into the curriculum. John's personal life is busy, as he devotes time to his family (wife Gwen, and sons Chris, Jack, and Josh). He has been a rabid baseball fan all of his life. John's other hobbies include numismatics (the study of coins) and record collecting. He loves the music of the 1960s and has an extensive collection of the recorded works of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.   David Schneider has taught mathematics at universities for more than 34 years and has authored 36 books. He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Oberlin College and a PhD in mathematics from MIT. During most of his professional career, he was on the faculty of the University of Maryland—College Park. His hobbies include travel, dancing, bicycling, and hiking.   Callie Daniels has always had a passion for learning mathematics and brings that passion into the classroom with her students. She attended the University of the Ozarks on an athletic scholarship, playing both basketball and tennis. While there, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education as well as the NAIA Academic All-American Award. She has two Master’s degrees: one in Applied Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Missouri—Rolla, the second in Adult Education from the University of Missouri—St. Louis. Her hobbies include watching her sons play sports, riding horses, fishing, shooting photographs, and playing guitar. Her professional interests include improving success in the community college mathematics sequence, using technology to enhance students’ understanding of mathematics, and creating materials that support classroom teaching and student understanding.

Do NOT buy this kindle version unless you have a kindle or tablet and are prepared to ONLY read it from the tablet! Amazon has prevented the ebook from being opened in kindle cloud reader, meaning that you can only read the ebook on your phone or tablet or kindle. They have not changed the formatting in order to even make this feasible, meaning in order to read the ebook you have to constantly zoom in and out, which makes it very difficult to read or study or even do homework problems. This is exceedingly frustrating and makes everything much more difficult. Ebooks are supposed to be MORE convenient, not less!

This book is worthless with out the code (that is not included) and unless you click on the "more info" you won't see that it isn't included. Great way to rip off college freshmen who don't know any better. Shame on our college, too, as they did not do a good job of providing specifics about what exactly the student needed.

THE 2 OUT OF 5 IS FOR THE AUTHORS OF THIS BOOK AND NOT THE SELLER. I dont like this book at all. The examples are super easy, and the examples are completely different. You will get really really frustrated with this book be warned. Get the solutions manual. Between the solutions manual and youtube, I was able to figure it out. Often, really important details are casually buried in a paragraph of text when it should have been highlighted. Poorly written and organized book but it's for college so had to get it.

There aren't many textbooks that I like, but this one taught me everything I know. Explained material well.

One of the worst textbooks I've ever used. I know it can be hard to write about mathematics, but this one misses the mark. It was a total waste of money. Ended up teaching myself the material from the MathLabs and looking up difficult topics online and in a different textbook at our campus tutoring center. Even the head math tutor said it was a horrible book!

Some chapters are written nicely and is easy to learn and follow. Other chapters miss the mark! Examples are not given for some problems. The student is left to guess or YouTube for help in understanding the steps of how they came to the concluding answer.

Good quality, delivered on time

This book is good, but sometimes it doesn't choose the best #'s for examples at the beginning of each lesson.
