My son got this for Christmas from me and he absolutely loves it. He has always been interested in things that make him think. As an 8 year old boy who usually would rather play video games, this book got him to get away from that. With it being two months after he got it, he still loves it!

Very attractive book for children.
As the school year winds down, I always pull together a box full of boredom-buster items for the upcoming lazy days of summer. It's important to me that all the items have at least some educational value to keep minds sharp during the school break. This book is one of the items in our boredom-buster box this summer.Mind Benders: Brain-Boggling Tricks, Puzzles and Illusions is packed full of fun activities! While some of the pages include pop-ups, wheels and doors, all of the pages are colorful and include a variety of puzzlers. Most of the brain-teasers only require a paper and pencil to solve - or nothing at all. A pocket of special manipulatives (like tangrams) is included in the back of the book for the few activities that require moveable pieces. Answers are provided for everything.My 8-15 year old children will be stretched in logic, language, letters, observation and concentration for sure and are going to be so excited to "play" with the book! I have a feeling we'll all sit on the hammock together trying to see who can be the first to figure out this puzzle or that. Surprisingly, I don't think the older ones will always outdo the younger one because the puzzles hit on so many different learning styles and academic smarts aren't necessarily going to help in solving all the puzzles.What a great way to get in a good dose of painless logic!
